Loved taking these Palos Verdes California family photos with these different families!

One of the families I photographed on this day was the Gracie family, the sweet family down the page, with the two little boys who have the coolest haircuts.

This well-known family in California is super cool for a few reasons. First of all, Dad’s grandpa actually brought Jiu Jitsu to the United States - yep, Jiu Jitsu, the Japanese martial arts practice! How random and cool, right? Rener (the dad) is actually a third-generation Jiu Jitsu master. He was also on ABC’s Shark Tank with the Quikflip Hero Hoodie a “2-in-1 hoodie that quickly and easily converts into a functional backpack.” It was featured in Time magazine as one of the “Best Inventions of 2019,” and is super innovative, comfortable, and convenient. Now that we’ve gone through how cool the Gracie family is, let’s talk location! Whether you want to go to the beach or find some areas of greenery, Palos Verdes (where these sessions took place) is a great go-to location in Southern California for both of those settings. There are lots of areas located around the peninsula that are green all year-round and is a great option if you want a more foresty setting for your photos! All of the trees at Palos Verdes yield beautiful lighting both in the morning and the afternoon, so your session will have gorgeous light no matter what time of day!
