California Family Photos at Brouwerij West

These California family photos at Brouewerij West was so much fun with the Grothaus fam! Their outfits were perfect, with a mix of brown tones, white, pink, deep orange, and blue. The two kids were absolute naturals in front of the camera and smiled nonstop! We got precious photos of each kid individually, the kids together, both parents with each one, and of course, the whole family together looking super stylish. Some of my favorites are the ones of the kids being held and thrown upside down, having so much fun.

Brouwerij West, a craft brewery & beer garden, is located in San Pedro, just over the brand new Gerald Desmond Bridge. It’s about 20 minutes from Long Beach and 30 minutes from Manhattan Beach if you want to go there yourself!

It’s such a great location if you’re wanting a more industrial look for your photos! A lot of my family sessions often take place in locations more in nature - typically the beach or a hilly area. But industrial family photos are such a fun take on the “typical” family photos and add a totally different touch. We photographed this family in the parking lot and as all around the building, which is filled with aesthetic, textured walls, doors, curbs, lines on the ground, and fun shadows created by parts of the building!

Currently, we’re not allowed to photograph inside the brewery, but you can definitely take a growler to-go after our session! You’ve gotta try one of my favorites, the “Dog Ate My Homework” - a yummy blackberry ale.

Without the restrictions caused to the pandemic, Brouwerij West is open most afternoons and offers a verity of food trucks as well as live music, all while staying family-friendly. Fun fact: you can also host special events at the brewery - including weddings!
