Seal Beach California Maternity Photos

These Seal Beach California maternity photos feature such a stunning mama. Somehow she beautifully pulled off the mustard yellow dress she wore - it was so bold paired with her bright red lip, and stood out perfectly from the sand background!

Seal Beach is one of my all-time favorite places to hold sessions at. The Seal Beach Jetty, where we photographed this beautiful couple, is within walking distance of the Seal Beach sand dunes (see an example gallery from the sand dunes here!). If we’re doing a regular, full one-hour session, we would definitely have time to be able to photograph at both the sand dunes and the jetty. Due to limited time during a mini-session like this one, however, we were only able to photograph at one - and even just at one location, their gallery turned out gorgeous!

When it’s low tide, you can see and touch sea anemones on the rocks, and sometimes you’ll even see the occasional beach bunny! There’s actually always a little family of bunnies living in the rocks at the jetty, enjoying the spring and summer, and during sunset, sometimes little baby bunnies will come out! That makes it always a great spot for a family session with little kids.

As far as seasons go, the best times of year to photograph a session at the Seal Beach Jetty are the spring, fall, and winter, as the beaches can get pretty crowded during the summer at sunset in the evenings. It’s not totally out of the question to do a sunset session there during the summer, but a weekday is probably preferable if you want to avoid crowds.
