San Diego is well-known for its beautiful weather, and its many outdoor locations make it a great place for photography. From the city's skyline to its beaches, there are endless opportunities for stunning photos.

Here are just a few of the reasons why San Diego is such a great place for outdoor photoshoots:

The weather is nearly perfect year-round.

Whether you are planning a fall or spring mini session, or even a holiday shoot, the weather in San Diego is usually just right. The average temperature is a comfortable 70 degrees, and there are very few days of rain. This makes it easy to plan your photoshoot around the weather, without having to worry about last-minute changes.

Location, Location, Location!

There are so many different outdoor locations to choose from, each with its own unique vibe.

Team Beach or Team mountain? No problem! San Diego has it all. If you're looking for a beachy feel, head to La Jolla or Coronado Island. For a more urban setting, try downtown San Diego or Balboa Park. And if you want something in between, there are plenty of beautiful parks and gardens to explore.

Dog-friendly parks

San Diego has so many pet-friendly parks! And what's a photoshoot without a furry friend? From small neighborhood parks to larger off-leash dog parks, there is a park for every pup. For fun leash-free parks, be sure to check out the two dog parks located within Balboa Park.

Many of the city's beaches are dog friendly, so you can include your four-legged friend in your beach photos, too! While there are many wonderful dog-friendly beaches in San Diego to choose from, some of my favorites include sections of Ocean Beach, Fiesta Island at Mission Bary Coronado North, and Del Mar.

The Light

There is something especially beautiful about the light in San Diego. Maybe it's the clear air or the way the sun reflects off the ocean. Whatever the reason, the light is perfect for photography, especially during golden hour. If you're looking to capture some stunning sunset shots, San Diego is the place to be.
