"Le Petit Prince" THEMED Cake Smash MILESTONE SESSION

As a family photographer, I am always so excited when I get to capture special milestone moments like first birthdays! Recently, I had the pleasure of working with the sweetest little birthday boy, Anders, and his family to celebrate his first trip around the sun.

But before the cake smash magic began - we started with some photos of Anders before the cake was brought out. This session took place in my Torrance, CA studio. Anders was dressed in two different blue birthday outfits. Seriously, how adorable is he?! I cannot get over his blue eyes and little blond curls.

‘Le Petit Prince’ Themed Cake Smash

The theme for Anders’ first birthday photoshoot was Le Petit Prince, and we had so much fun putting everything together.

"Le Petit Prince" is a classic novella written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry that has captured the hearts of generations of readers, young and old. The story follows the adventures of a young prince who travels from planet to planet, meeting peculiar characters and learning about life and love. Its simple yet profound message about the importance of love and friendship, combined with its charming illustrations, has made it a popular children's story. When Anders's Mom presented the idea of A "Le Petit Prince" themed cake smash I knew this would be an adorable celebration for his first birthday.

We incorporated elements from the story such as the little prince, his rose, and the planets he visits. The whimsical and imaginative theme from the story truly made for a memorable and beautiful backdrop for capturing precious memories.

The cake was created by the talented Sabrina at Couture Cupcakery, and it was absolutely perfect for this theme. The cake was adorned with gold fondant stars and a cute little fondant fox peeking out from the side.

We also decorated the studio with gold, blue, and white balloons to really set the scene for this adorable celebration. And of course, the birthday boy was dressed up like Le Petit Prince himself, complete with a crown and cape and rose. WAY too adorable!!

The Cake Smash: Le Petit prince

As soon as the cake was placed in front of him, the little prince was ready to dig in. He smeared frosting all over his face and hands as he giggled and squealed with delight. It was such a joy to watch him have so much fun and to capture these precious memories for his family to treasure for years to come.

After the cake smash, we gave the little prince a little milk bath to wash off all of the frosting, and then it was time for some quiet snuggles and a well-deserved nap. It was the perfect end to a perfect first birthday celebration. Thank you to the little prince and his family for choosing me to be a part of this special occasion!
